Glory of our Cossacks ancestors lives in our hearts.

Recently the participants and guests of “Kozatskie rozvagy” had a perfect possibility to feel a Cossack spirit and to taste kulesh.

This competition was organized and held by the URC Kalmius regiment under the direction of Alexander Belokon, it was arranged in the Children creativity house named after Charles Marx.

Pupils of Four Class of the 42, 44, 46 and 47 schools of Ilichevsky District took part in the competition.

“Zavzyati kozarlyugy”, “Veseli garmatnyky”, “Sokolyata”, “Oseledtsy”, “Lytsari” - young Cossacks and Bereguinias all of them strive for victory.

For strong and sporty participants there was fight on bags, tug-of-war; for quick and agile - competition on the best hopak; for interesting story-tellers - competition for a rank “Best dzhura“. Young cooks competed in Cossack varenikies.

It was very difficult for jury to choose the best detachment because all participants seriously defended Cossack traditions and customs. The winners were “Oseledtsy” from school № 4 who were awarded not only with diplomas, but also with elements of national costumes. They also received a Cossack mace - a symbol of superiority which they will already defend in May at the Ukrainian festival “Legendy stepu” in Kamennye mogily.

We need such competitions as “Kozatskie rozvagy” to develop spirituality among the youth, to educate real Cossacks!
