On the 18th and 19th of January in the Temple of Jesus Christ's Birth of the Donetsk State Institute of Artificial Intelligence there was a Great Consecration of Jordan and Christmas waters. Workers and students of the institute, and also its guests could not only sanctify water, but also take part in the worshipping service, to pray the Lord together with the priest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic church Vasili Pantelyuk and Father Sergi, who were conducting the worshipping service.

This holiday, which is called Baptism by Water (Vodokhreshchennya, Vodokhreshcha, Vodokhreshchi, Vodosvyattya, Bogoyavlennya, Ordan, Ardan, Jordan, Iordan) is one of the greatest Christian holidays, terminating the serious of the greatest Christian holidays. At this time the Sun wins over darkness and gloom, sheds its life giving light on rivers, lakes, springs and wells. The Christmas water is pure and fresh. Every man or other member of a family brought Jordan river to his house and always drank it before meal. Our ancestors alwys saw unity of human soul and the nature on this holiday of Vodokhreshchennya. This is the period when winter gives all its force to fight against approaching summer: severe frosts start at that time, which are very dangerous for gardens and fields, cold diseases become more frequent and cattle dies more often. That is why on the eve of Vodokhreshchennya our ancestors always burnt or painted crosses on doors and windows to protect their houses from evil spirit. In some places they even brought two cakes as sacrifice.

The worshipping service on Vodokhreshchennya was also remarkable because it was the first service in the Temple of Jesus Christ's Birth, opened recently at the "temple of acience".
