Those are the 60 students of Kolomak secondary school, who have been solemnly initiated to the ranks of the Ukrainian Registered Cossacks.

It was quite recently that in a district center of Kolomak, in the place where Ivan Mazepa was delivered the symbol of hetman power 320 years ago. Solemn events have taken place on this occasion.

At the meeting the URC Hetman, Corresponding Member of NAS of Ukraine Anatoli Shevchenko, in particular, underlined that during the period of hetman Ivan Mazepa in Ukraine 220 temples, monasteries were erected, education and book printing, culture and arts were flourishing.

It was at that time when it was decided to set up a monument to the outstanding state activist on the bank of the river Kolomak, where in 1687 a Cossack Rada took place and mazepa was elected hetman.

“ On this historic background,- Director of the Institute of the URC Hetman’s Advisers in Kharkov region Colonel General of the URC Nikolai Mazepa,- a solemn meeting has been held, devoted to initiation of young Registered Cossacks. Anatoli Ivanovich Shevchenko has commissioned me to pass these valuable presents and two sets of computer programs to the school. The presents have been prepared at the State university of informatics and artificial Intelligence. The presents have been received with gratitude.”

The following have taken place in the solemn events, devoted to taking the oath of allegiance by students of Kolomak school: Chief deputy of the head office of Inner Affairs of Kharkov regional state administration Leonid Petrenko, head of Kolomak state regional administration Serguei Yatsyuk, Superior of kolomak Svyato-Voskresentski temple Nikolai Filozof, commander of Eastern Ukrainian district of the URC Major-General of the URC Victor Posokhov, and wide public of the district center Kolomak.
