There was held the first festival "ÊÀNÒUÌ" in Tallinn

On Christmas holidays 2010 in the cultural centre SALME in the centre of Tallinn there were held the first festival "ÊANÒUÌ" where the Ukrainian and Estonian collectives took part. The event was held under patronage of the Ministry of Defence of Estonia, Association of the Ukrainians’ organizations in Estonia and the Estonian Cossack Organization of the Ukrainian Registered Cossacks.
The festival was opened with traditional Ukrainian Christmas carol performed by the Tallinn ensemble “Susidky” of the society “Prosvita” under the direction of Oksana Mamutova. After that hetman of the Ukrainian Registered Cossacks in Estonia Andrey Gritskov welcomed participants, public and guests of the festival.
Among guests there were adviser of the Minister of Defence of Estonia lieutenant general Johannes Kert, representatives of the city self-governments of Estonia, representatives of the Kaitselit, known sportsmen and trainers of Estonia.
Choreographic collective "Burevesnik" from Kharkov was the guest of the festival from Ukraine. The public remembered dances and national suits’ colors of the Western, Central and East Ukraine. The public enjoyed a folk music of different regions of Ukraine, which are rich on history, various traditions and customs.
The young performer from Tallinn Arina Palamar has also taken part in the concert. She sang a Ukrainian song "Cranes" (“Zhuravli”) and Professor Nikolay Rybchenko accompanied her with an accordion.
Dancing collective "Burevesnik" performed their dance devoted Cossack history and traditions. After them the pop group “ILUSION” from Johvi (Estonia) continued the concert. Members of this group are the members of the Alatagusky group Kaitselit. Head of the group, soloist and accordionist Mr. Tarmo Anton, and also the guitarist and the performer who played a MIDI sequencer.
At the end of the concert on the stage came its organizers. Chairman of the Association of the Ukrainian organizations in Estonia Vladimir Palamar thanked participants of the festival, wished happy Christmas and successes in a New Year.
Then the word was given adviser of the Minister of Defence of Estonia lieutenant general Johannes Kert. He congratulated all orthodox inhabitants of the country, wished Ukrainians of Estonia to develop the national art and traditions which enrich culture of Estonia.
Trainer of the youth female football team FC named after Lobanovsky "Kreschatik" Mr. Boris Fedorenko solemnly received the diplomas on the stage of the cultural centre "Salme". He came together with his pupils who have occupied in 2009 the honourable first place in the championship of Estonia.
Sportsmen, football players of FC "Kiev" under the direction of Alexander Sushkov also received the diplomas. They have won the second place in Estonia on tournament of national commands.
It is necessary to say, that the basic languages this evening were Estonian and Ukrainian. Borislav Kulyk did his best for its realization; he was a translator and a host of the concert. Mister Borislav is a representative of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Estonia and URC Estonian Cossack association.
After the concert public and participants of the festival continued their conversation in the cafe of the cultural centre, planned their further work, and gave interviews.
Work in the field of culture development of both countries joined the Ukrainian and Estonian people. It is an important work concerning patriotism and spirituality development, the main task of the URC Estonian Cossack organization.
